You'll figure out what's going on piecemeal and with the help of short clips from The Golden Compass film. Lyra also possesses an instrument called an alethiometer-the golden compass of the title-which can answer any question that she asks it. Lyra is accompanied by her daemon Pantalaimon (or Pan, for short), who is the physical embodiment of Lyra's soul, and she is occasionally joined by a hulking armored polar bear named Iorek. As Lyra Belacqua, you seek to save your friend Roger from the grasp of evil folkloric kidnappers known as Gobblers. If you aren't familiar with the accompanying film, or the Philip Pullman novel on which it's based, you will probably be rather confused by the game. And just for good measure, the PSP version suffers from incomprehensibly awful glitches that essentially break the game.Īs if the action wasn't bland enough, you might need to deal with loading screens midattack. Yet for some reason, the designers picked all of the bad stuff while leaving behind the good. Like Narnia, it is a game based on a film based on a fantasy novel, and it even goes so far as to summarily lift hunks of gameplay directly from the older title. I won't have much use of it though so I might just end up selling it or giving it to a friend. The Golden Compass owes a lot to 2005's The Chronicles of Narnia. But it is difficult to find online listings for it. I would definitely recommend it as a cheaper alternative for a display/charging dock. The fit might be better with a 2000 since it seems to have been made for it. The Intec dock definitely works well as a charging dock though and looks really cool with the blue LEDs when plugged in. I highly recommend the official PSP dock to anyone who is like me and likes to have charging docks for their portable devices. It also has a cutout for the power switch which I think is a nice touch. I don't have AV cables so I wasn't able to try that functionality but I'd have to imagine it works exactly as you'd expect being that it's just a passthrough. It works really well and actually ejects the PSP all the way out making it very easy to pick up the PSP and go. The best part of the dock is the eject button. The 3000 fits easily and perfectly in the dock and it charges as it should. The PSP S400 dock seems to be the same as the S410 but I believe the part number is different because it does not come with the remote. Biggest issue I have with it is that removing the PSP from the dock is difficult since there is no easy way to grab the PSP when trying to pull it out. The 3000 does fit well enough though and it charges the PSP as you'd expect. ![]() This dock was meant for the PSP 2000 so I'm not sure if there are some small size differences between the 2000 and the 3000. I have a PSP 3000 and the Intec dock seems to have a tight fit on the av connector side. ![]() I couldn't find much information at all online about these docks so I wanted to make a post about my experience with them. So of course the day after I bought it, eBay sent an email recommending me a listing of the psp s400 dock which is an official playstation product for slightly under $90 so I felt like I had to buy it. I made a post a couple of days ago asking about PSP charging docks and after looking deep in ebay I found the Intec PSP TV dock and bought it for a little less than $30.
